Lets go BIG! - 12x36 Commission

Process Video of the artist painting the commissioned 12x36.

I was honored to be tapped to create a piece that helps highlight the beauty of the foyer. This isn’t just any foyer though. This is the hub of hellos and goodbyes. This is a space where visitors begin their next adventure wherever they may go, so I wanted to make sure this piece would have a lasting effect on whoever sees it whether coming or going. The best part is that this would be my first large scale piece. Challenge accepted.

I first chose to use bold and basic geometric shapes as the backdrop to the series of faces to create a visual contrast that immediately catches the viewer's attention. The shapes are arranged in a way that creates a sense of movement and rhythm, drawing the viewer's eye from one shape to the next. The faces in the series are created using a single line, giving them a sense of fluidity and motion. Each face is unique, showcasing the diversity of the human form. The single line technique used to create the faces adds to the piece's overall simplicity while also creating a sense of continuity and connectedness between each face. Feeling out the space, I wanted to make sure to utilize fun welcoming colors such as the blue, green, and yellow, to plant joy and excitement into the viewer’s day.

Creating this piece was a labor of love. I wanted to make sure this piece felt right for the space while speaking to my clients’ personalities. I'm overwhelmed by the positive feedback that I've received from them and their guests. It's humbling to know that my art has resonated with so many people.
