I am Color collection.
This collection is an exploration of my emotions. Like my past works, I pour much of myself into my pieces. As I was reflecting on my digital collages I had the realization that many of them carried a dark gloomy feel. Granted, they express how I was feeling but I also want to show times of success and triumph. So I decided to take a step back and rediscover what sparked my joy to create art.
THE PURPOSE
These portraits capture the personal expressions of a moment, while also highlighting the creativity that vividly lives in us all. With the crayon being my muse, the possibilities in crafting the series were endless.
What I really enjoy about these pieces is that they reminded me of my love for drawing and allowed me to see how it has evolved in the years.

THE PURSUIT
While these are an escape to joyful wonder and a time of creative freedom, I am still a part of them. My mind wanders into a world of the unexpected characteristics of the crayon colors. The personification of the crayons allows me to explore them more deeply. Whether it’s from the expression of the portraiture or the feeling the color presents, my pieces focus on the desire for more and the inherent hierarchy in our use of color.
THE PUSH
To further the expression of each color I began to draft write ups of who they are from their perspectives. This allowed them to have not only an expression but also a voice for viewers to get a full experience of what these colors are for me.
As I continue to explore the colors and describe the emotions that I feel from them, I will be creating a playlist for each as well. While tedious, this extension of my feelings allows for me to have meaningful time with the music I love and potentially spark nostalgia throughout my pieces.
